Down sides include a sometimes choppy ride, a weak engine and an unpredictable manual transmission. the base soul gets a 1.6 liter, 122 horsepower four cylinder engine. The Soul Sport gets a 2.0 liter 142 horsepower four cylinder. All trims have the same standard transmission, a five speed manual, and a four speed automatic is also available, but you can’t get it with the base model, and its optional on the Soul (+) trim. Combined, the Soul’s engine and transmission do not create a sporty ride. The EPA hasn’t released fuel ratings for the 2011 Soul, but the highly similar 2010 model  gets 26 miles per gallon in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2011 Chevy Cruze at Chevrolet Service Center offers a choice of two engines. The first which will power the Eco, LT, and LTZ models are a 1.4 liter turbo charged four cylinder engine that produces 138 horsepower. The LS model gets a 1.8 liter four cylinder engine that produces 136 horsepower both engines are direct injected, which improves fuel economy. For both engines, a six speed manual is standard, but there’s an optional six speed automatic. Fuel economy Hasn’t been estimated for the Cruze but tat the 2010 New York Auto Show, Chevrolet introduced an Eco trim for the Cruze. Though the Eco trim uses the 1.4 liter engine, it has a modified stance, low rolling resistance tires and shutters in its front grille that closes when the car gets up to 37 miles per hour. The result is less wind resistance, which means improved fuel economy. Chevy says the Cruze Eco should get 40 miles per gallon on the highway. Even though they don’t call the chevrolet Cruzes styling revolutionary, reviewer say that it’s an attractive car, that looks more substantial than your typical compact such as the Ford Fiesta at Cincinnati Ford. On the LT and LTZ trims there’s an available RS appearance package. The Cruze RS appearance package has unique rocker moldings and a rear spoiler.
