SUV Competition!

2011 Sorento SUV Competition!

One of the most competitive markets right now in the automotive industry is the sport utility vehicle class.  Where we used to have just cars and trucks, like the ones you can get from Richmond Quick Lane Dealers, we now have SUVs and crossovers and wagons and the list really does go on.  Some of the main competitors, ignoring the class leader Honda CR-V, include the Kia Sorento, the Toyota Rav4, the Chevrolet Equinox, the GMC Terrain, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.  Again, the confusion continues.  These are all classified as compact SUVs, so the list of competition can be as big as you want to make it.

You can test drive the Chevy Equinox and the GMC Terrain at any Indiana Chevrolet Dealer.  These two vehicles are, for the most part, identical.  They both have the best fuel economy in the class, with 32 mpg on the highway.  They both come in a variety of trim levels, but even the base model GMC Terrain has a long list of standard features.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is a bit more costly than some of the options, and you can find one at any Volkswagen Dealer.  It is going to cost you $23,200 for a base model or $33,500 for a fully loaded model.  You can expect to get 26 mpg on the highway, and drivers love how fun it is to drive this sporty and turbocharged SUV.

The Toyota Rav4 has been in the small SUV class for a long time now, and the optional V6 engine makes this a super fun SUV to drive.  You can expect to get about 28 mpg on the highway, and a fully loaded Limited model will cost you just under $30,000.  Consumers love driving the Rav4 and its recent redesign keeps the exterior finish fresh and competitive.

The Kia Sorento comes standard with a four cylinder, but has an optional V6 that will give you 276 horsepower and seating for seven people.  Combine that with Kia’s fantastic 10 year 100,000 mile warranty and you have a great SUV!
