Kia edges out Accord in Consumer Reports test;
The Kia Optima has edged out the Honda Accord for the first time in a recent Consumer Reports test. The mid-sized sedan battles have continued into 2011 with some of the mainstays being threatened by high tech, fuel efficient, and feature rich rivals. The Kia Optima and other Kia models can be purchased from Washington Kia Dealers and have been more popular in recent months. Over the past several years the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord have been two of the top selling mid sized sedans in the United States and few other competitors came close to those models’ performance and build quality. However, the Kia Optima may be a new rival to these two popular sedans along with the Ford Fusion and Hyundai Sonata, which can be purchased from a Bradenton used car lot.

The Kia Optima was redesigned to help it compete against the Accord and other mid sized sedans, and it looks like the redesign has paid off with the Optima edging out the Accord in the latest Consumer Reports test. Consumer Reports pitted the two models against each other and the result is that the Optima now ranks in the top 10 among four cylinder family sedans ranked by the review company. The Optima is ranked sixth, which is ahead of the Honda Accord as well as the Suzuki Kizashi. The Optima beat the Accord by just one point.
Other top models include the Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Camry, which were the top three scoring models. The Optima has been reviewed highly because of its new design, its good handling, high fuel economy, and good safety ratings. Consumer Reports is an influential publication for car buyers, so the Optima may see even higher sales due to the latest ranking.
