2011 Kia Sportage 300x162 2011 Kia Sportage Gets Thumbs Down for USA Today Reviewer;

The Kia Sportage is a crossover vehicle model produced by South Korean automaker Kia.  Other small crossover vehicles include the Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Escape Hybrid which are two other popular vehicle models.  Kia however hopes to get better reviews for the 2011 Sportage model than the one it received from USA Today.  The 2011 Kia Sportage is based on the 2010 vehicle model in many ways, but one reviewer did not like some of the changes and noted a number of problems with the vehicle.  Volkswagen sells crossover models like the Volkswagen Tourag which are considered to be reliable and fuel efficient.  The hardware used in the Kia Sportage for the 2011 model is similar to the hardware found in the Hyundai Tucson, and Kia is a division of Hyundai so this is no surprise.
The Nissan Rogue crossover which can be found at a Nissan Dealer New Haven is a great fuel efficient crossover which was redesigned for 2011 as well.The reviewer found that the Sportage was a hard ride and that the seats on the vehicle felt stiff.  Some reviewers felt that the vehicle’s steering was not that great as well.  The steering had too many boost movements when small adjustments were made and the movements lead to weaving when the drivers were just trying to make small movements.

The 2011 has some benefits such as more cargo room than the 2010 vehicle model and also comes with more standard features.  It also features safety features like hill assist which keeps the vehicle from backwards rolling on a hill and downhill control which can keep the vehicle at 5 mph or less on very steep declines. The 2011 Kia Sportage is about $1,600 more than the 2010 model.  It features sedan like construction that was introduced in 2004 after many other former truck and SUV models were altered for the increased consumer demand in “crossover” vehicles.
